South Norfolk Tag Rugby Tournament

The "Special Move"  Nine children from Spooner Row took part in the South Norfolk Tag Rugby tournament on Tuesday 10th March. Getting some last minute practice before the first game The first game was against Wreningham 1. Spooner Row started very strongly with a 7 - 0 victory. Next Spooner won against Hempnall 4 - 0 and  Elliingham 8-1 Next came the only loss of the day 2 - 3 against eventual runners up Trowse. Followed by a 7 - 2 win against our friends from Kenninghall. The final pool game was a 9 -1 win against Alburgh 2 Spooner Row finished runners up in the group and then played Alpington in the 3rd 4th play off. Alpington started very strongly and went 2 - 0 up. The Spooner Row children showed great determination and resilience to eventually win the game 6-4   The team played brilliantly throughout the day. Racket Pack

The South Norfolk SSP in association with Badminton England delivered a badminton festival aimed at giving young children the opportunity to try the sport. Sports leaders from Long Stratton High School supported a series of individual activities aimed at developing the skills required for badminton. Each school team tried each of the activities. Children from Fox Class took part in the morning Badger Class children took part in the afternoon Spooner Row School has now purchased the equipment to deliver badminton sessions in PE and Mrs Baker has received badminton coach training. Thanks to Badminton England, Laura Goodsween (South Norfolk's School Sports Coordinator) and the school sports leaders from Long Stratton High for making it such a fun event. Norfolk Cross Country Finals

Two children from Spooner Row qualified to represent South Norfolk at the Norfolk School Games Cross Country finals on Wednesday 4th March. The competition was for children who had qualified from their cluster and regional competitions. Both the Spooner Row children improved on their results from last year. 25th Place - 1 place higher than last year 7th Place - 4 places higher than last year Congratulations to both children and thanks to Mrs Baker and Mrs Sparkes for their excellent weekly training sessions.

Tae Kwon Do Training

Children from Fox and Badger classes have been taking part in Tae Kwon Do training with coaches Lisa and Chris from NMAC Great Britain. In the first session children were learning front stance. The sessions will continue every Wednesday until the Easter Holidays. In the Summer term an after school Tae Kwon Do club will be running on Monday evenings NMAC offer a wide range of training days and dates should your child wish to continue with Tae Kwon Do.
