South Norfolk Tag Rugby Tournament

The "Special Move"

Nine children from Spooner Row took part in the South Norfolk Tag Rugby tournament on Tuesday 10th March.

Getting some last minute practice before the first game

The first game was against Wreningham 1. Spooner Row started very strongly with a 7 - 0 victory.

Next Spooner won against Hempnall 4 - 0 and  Elliingham 8-1

Next came the only loss of the day 2 - 3 against eventual runners up Trowse.

Followed by a 7 - 2 win against our friends from Kenninghall.

The final pool game was a 9 -1 win against Alburgh 2

Spooner Row finished runners up
in the group and then played Alpington in the 3rd 4th play off.

Alpington started very strongly and went 2 - 0 up. The Spooner Row children showed great determination and resilience to eventually win the game 6-4

The team played brilliantly throughout the day. Thanks to parent helpers Mrs Saint and Mrs Sparkes for helping with transport and photography. Thanks also to School Sports Coordinator Laura Goodswen and the sports leaders from Diss High School.

Any children wishing to play more tag rugby can do so at Wymondham Rugby Club on Sunday mornings throughout the rugby season.
