South Norfolk Tag Rugby Finals

On Wednesday 22nd May, ten children from Oak Class took part in the South Norfolk Tag Rugby Finals Tournament at Wymondham RFC.

All the teams in this tournament had qualified for this tournament from their clusters which meant that the standard of all the teams was very high.

The Spooner Row team played brilliant in the pool stages and won all five games to win their pool.
The semi final was against a very strong Brooke team. Spooner Row quickly went 2 nil down but pulled back to level the score at 5 -5. In the last seconds of the game Spooner Row  managed to score a great try to win the game.

The final was against our Wymondham Cluster friendly rivals Wreningham. The final was another very close game and the standard of rugby was extremely high. The final score was Wreningham 5 Spooner Row 4. Congratulations to Wreningham.

Unfortunately there are no Norfolk Finals this year but if there had been, Spooner Row would have qualified to represent South Norfolk.

Thanks to the excellent referees from Wymondham College, Wymondham RFC, Phil Lambert and parent helper Mrs Saint.

Children wanting to try rugby can do so at Wymondham Rugby Club when the season starts in October or try touch rugby now with Norwich Rebels and Mr House at weekly training sessions at Eaton Park Norwich between 10am and 11am every Sunday (May to October).
